At the time I made this 4 piece outfit I was sewing girls boutique clothing. I modified the traditional pinafore by adding boxed pleats  instead of gathers and I used  rectangles of fabrics from the Chateau Rococo  collection approx 9″W X  13″ L, added a ruffle at the bottom which  opened the pleats and then added the red serged edges ruffle on top of the  seam. The front ruched belt is attached by hand and at the side seams I added a serged edge 3.5″W tie on each side to tie into a big bow at the back.  The underdress was designed to show a little and is an elongated peasant top with a white ruffled bottom for fullness. There is a lot of hand finishing in this outfit. I made the elastic waist denim stove pipe leg pants and added the double ruffle full by using a 44″ long piece for each ruffle. I prefer making the pants when adding decoupage rather than modifying premade jeans. ~Margo

My 5-year old daughter saw this and immediately asked for an outfit just like it. The details and the colors are just amazing!
