This is a nice collection of links; I’ve been playing with the idea of constructing my own jeans for a while. I’m only 5′2″, but I have a huge ass, so jeans off the rack are usually way to long for me! (I’ve got a fresh pair pinned up and ready for hemming next to me right now, coincidentally). Plus, I’m 20 and the younger jeans I see are so incredibly low wasted, bending over tells everyone behind me what color underwear I’m wearing. More mature bottoms, especially shorts that fit me are so painfully dull…

    I am rambling.

I know what you mean, Rachel! I am also 5′2 and rarely have found jeans that are the perfect fit (lengthwise especially). I too have been mulling over the option of making my own jeans.

SOme great links here…thank you, Sandra!

The problem I have is with a very small bottom – so baggy jeans!

The only jeans I wear now are made by me – they don’t ride down or gap in the back, crotch depth is just right, they’re full enough across the front thigh – all adjustments made using the fitting guide in Sandra’s jeans pattern – well worth the time to tweak the pattern.
