Burn Test for Fabric

Have you ever found a great piece of fabric at a discount store and the composition is unknown?

Determining the fiber content is not an exact science since more and more fabrics are a combination of fibers.

If a fabric is pure, fiber content can usually be determined by what is often referred to as a “Burn Test”.  Follow the directions below to administer the test.
