Trunk show followed by lunch and afternoon seminar.

Morning seminar will concentrate on fit. Sandra will explain how different companies’ garments fit and give fitting shortcuts which can eliminate pretesting every pattern. She will concentrate on cross shoulder measurements for narrow shoulders, rounded back, movement of darts, how to make pants and skirts larger at the tummy without effecting the style and ease needed for different styles. The afternoon seminar will be spent on new techniques from Sandra’s Toolbox.

Come and experience a full day with Sandra Betzina, beginning with a trunk show of her latest creations. During the morning session, Sandra will discuss successful marriage of pattern and fabric as well as how to identify potential fitting problems, what to do about them, before you cut out. Creative seam and hem finishes will be covered as well as a lot of very useful information on how to make your projects go smoother

The afternoon session will be focused on new techniques which include: lining knit pants to prevent saggy seats and knees, clever design solutions for the large arm, adding a sleeve to a sleeveless pattern, creative closures, working with stretch mesh, bulk free darts in heavy fabrics,  non stretch clean finish bindings for necklines and armholes, pleat detailing and much more. This session will also include Q &A at the end of the day.

TWO DAY HANDS ON SEWING LIMITED TO 20 ON JANUARY 9 &10

Join this small class for 2 days of hands on sewing while you will create slim but not leggings pull on pants which can be lined or not lined and a recently released designer T-shirt to create items which you will want to make again and again because they fit and are very designer looking. Sandra will bring with her fitting shells in all sizes for both the slim pants and the T-shirt so you can determine what size you want to make as well as any needed adjustments before you cut out. You will conquer neckline finishes which never stretch out and look very professional, good looking hems, shirring for effect stabilizing necklines and shoulders, pant vents and bulk free elastic waistlines.
