Dear Sandra,
I loved your video on round backs because my jackets are always tight between the armholes across the back. I discovered that my problem is most noticeable when I am writing on the white board during class. THen I do not have the ease room to raise my arm freely. I have tried to add fabric at the center back seam, but I only created excess material in the back area. I wish that I had the time to come to one of your fitting clinics. Do you have any suggestions for me to try to adjust the pattern?
Thank you.

Dear Shelley,
It sounds to me that you have a rounded back and it is pulling the fabric to the back. You may also have a fleshy shoulder. Do both of these alterations and your problems may disappear. If not, it is probably that you are short between the top and the bottom of the armhole so shorten there, but do the others first and your problems may disappear.
Happy Sewing,
Sandra

Dear Sandra:
This question was sent in to us via email. I asked Sandra to answer it on our forum to help anyone that may be interested:
I have your pattern fitting book, and it is wonderful!! I have a problem that is not covered in your book and I would like some help. I find that many of my shirts 'choke' me; they are always riding up at the front neckline, instead of sitting at my bust. I have rounded shoulders and a large bust – could this be the problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you
Shelley
