Removing tailor's chalk marks

I had the same problem with chalk (the Japanese kind; can't recall name now). I, too, tried everything. What eventually worked: Gonzo spot remover dabbed on with a cotton swab; let sit a minute; then blot, blot. It took several applications. Be careful not to damage the nap of the fabric.

Before Gonzo I tried various other "spot" removersConfused none worked as well. I was working on a tropical weight wool; pants — made by Akris, so was really worried since the pants cost the lady over $400.

Good luck.

I'm making a wool/cashmere or camel coat and I ended up with tailor's chalk marks (the wax kind that goes away with ironing) on the right side of my fabric. You can only see them when I look down on the fabric (as it will hang on me). I have tried steaming and pressing from the wrong side while the right side of the fabric rests on a moist towel. While I have been able to make the marks fainter they are not going away.
I could always use the reverse side, it is still a pretty finish but I prefer the loftier right side.
Any hints?

Thanks!
