A very good tip – used sandpaper designed for metal, slightly abraded only the edges that would normally wear – Thanks

Hi ya
I read somewhere that you could use a light sandpaper to wear the velveteen a bit, but go gently and slowly. Depends on how much you want to age it?
If its to discolour to make it olde looking they use something that wont rub off, ie , tea bags etc.
Good luck.

I'm finishing up a jacket sewn with cotton velveteen, and would like to 'age' the fabric a bit around the seams – anyone have experience with this? Thanks
