Okay, I've got it now. That extra collar piece really threw me for awhile. With only one collar piece it works out. Thanks, Ann

Okay I figured out one thing. On the pattern layout it says to cut 2 on fold. So I have two collar pieces. I think there should only be one. That makes it seem more like what you have pictured. So I set aside the extra pattern piece. I was able to do step #23. But #24 doesn't make sense now. Please help me.

I am working on this blouse right now and have become confused by the collar instructions. I've made many of a standard collar and understand the principle of this type of collar construction. But somehow at instruction #23 I am befuddled. Does one apply the entire collar to the entire edge of the undercollar? Should the outer collar have the seam stitched closed? Or does one only apply part of the outer collar to the undercollar? I don't get it. Ann

IF the blouse is tight across the front upper chest, it sounds like you maybe sewed the tucks a little bit wide and since there are so many, it would definitely affect the fit. Try sewing the front of the sleeve into the armhole with a smaller seam and maybe you can gain some there. If it feels too tight, maybe you need to go to a bigger size. To save the blouse you made, try taking out a few of the tucks in the front near the armhole and running an easeline to make it fit into the neckline. I love this blouse and have made 3 already.
Happy Sewing,
Sandra

I made Vogue 1165 Tucked front blouse by Sandra Betzina – it turned out great when I followed Sandra's suggestions for making the tucks. I have one more question – my daughter says the blouse is tight across front of upper bust – says the armholes feel tight. Would I solve this problem by going back and taking a larger seam in the armholes? The bust fits great – it is just the upper bust that is tight – or would I need to just make the blouse again in a larger size? Any suggestions would be appreciated -
