Hi,

I have just attempted to do the pattern alteration suggested at Power Sewing Toolbox, volume 2, p. 69-71. Because my collar ( a man's shirt collar – Vogue 8096) is straight along the outside edge, I do not get the gaint "U" shape you mention but rather a long narrow straight piece. Consequently, the under collar will not be on the bias. Should I cut this out on the bias or the straight of grain or have I completely messed up? Can't wait for your reply.
