Hi Robin,
I contacted Ron Collins with your question and this is what he suggested:

"Hi…start sewing 1″ down from the top and 1/4″ in from the side of the pocket. Begin to sew at this point and sew to the top of the pocket…..then across 1/4″ to the corner of the pocket….then around pocket. Ron"

On the Patch Pockets video, I think that Ron advises against sewing the pocket on by starting at the top corners because they're stress points. Where do you start then?
